Original Cover Art.
So this took me awhile mostly because I was trying to fine tune it so much. So got a picture that is used on the album LOVE and the O portion of the word used to sit a crescent moon with an astronaut sitting on it. I replaced that with a scaled down earth because the lyrics to most of their songs are implying the concept of love and peace. By adding the earth, I believe that scale that the lyrics reach as far as love and peace is concerned is world wide. I also used the AVA symbol at the top of the album as that is the bands trademark. In the middle and only color besides the earth is a red heart implying "Love". I used the paint brush to draw it in. Since the image was skewed a little bit, I had to fool around with the free transform to get it to sit right for me. The heart's bottom tip is stemming from the earth almost as to say love on earth, which is what the band strives for. Lastly, I used the text editor to write in Angels & Airwaves. I used a drop shadow about 8% and then used an outer glow around the letters. After that was done, I removed the connectors for the "A's" to hit on how the band spells out their band name. This is a great band, with a great message behind them. Hope you like!
Ok, so I took a step back and tried to think about what I could do to make it better. I really like the original and didn't really know how I could make it better. So I went to a black theme to try to hit on their outter space type design they have on their albums. To do that I added a bas relief to the background and fooled around with the spacing and lighting to give an almost charcoal look. Afterwards I took the original heart and changed the shadow to red to more emphasize the heart. I added a banner and made it more opaque to make it blend in more with the background. I changed the AVA logo to accommodate the newly added features. I gave the original AVA an embossed look. I changed the Angels & Airwaves text on the side to white instead of black. I also re-imaged the LOVE logo to to white. I feel the final version came out a lot better. I hope you guys enjoy it.
